Peter Bromwich

This was somthing I had thought about doing for years, when i was about 11 years old I got a book from the library about building your own boat. I was keen to do so as I loved fishing and wanted to maybe go lake and sea fishing.

Unfortunately my father was not keen on the idea so I decided the only way it was going to happen was if I built a boat myself and went fishing in it by myself. I bought wood from the local DIY shop and started to make the frame. I only gave up when I reolised it was going to cost more than a years pocket money in materials. So it had been on my mind ever since to have a go, but just never got around to it.

Having build the Saucy Sioux and enjoyed the freedom of paddling on the canal and the comments from people about how lovely she looks, I am so glad I finally got around to it. Thank you for reading my web site and I hope it inspires you to have a go yourself.

Finally, a big thank you to Diane for putting up with drying wood in the kitchen, picking epoxy off door handles and clothes. Long evenings by herself while I was playing in the garage. Not complaining when the alarm went off at silly o'clock so I could go and put another coat on the boat, and many many more things I probably did not even notice. But most of all for being my lovely squaw!
